Welcome to Tangled Garden
Inspired by the image of a sprig of thyme suspended in shimmering jelly, Beverly McClare acquired a handyman special and an acre of land in Grand Pré Nova Scotia. That was thirty years ago. Marrying her artist’s eye, foodie’s palate and a farmer’s capacity for hard work, she created Tangled Garden.

The most delicious and original jellies, chutney and other preserves we have ever tasted. Magic in your mouth.
One acre has become five, events such as Unpredictable dining have been added. A shop, a kitchen, a tea room, wedding tent, labyrinth, gardens upon gardens, this place will entice, delight, amuse and move you. Oh, and intoxicate. Tangled Garden is also a licensed distillery.
Still and always, every jar or bottle begins in the garden, freshly harvested herbs are carried into the kitchen and chopped by hand into jellies and jams, vinegars, cordials, and liqueurs.
When you step into the door of the shop you know you are somewhere special. Jars of jelly sparkle like jewels on the window sills and the air is fragrant with the day’s make. Raspberry Lavender, perhaps, or Garlic Rosemary.
Sample a few of our wares, wander the gardens – a must-stop in “The Garden Lover’s Guide to Canada”– herb ice cream or boozie pop in hand. Try the gourmet ploughman’s lunch in the tearoom, or perhaps fresh scones with clotted cream and Rhubarb Rose… If you can’t make it in person order Online.
